If you listen to Kevin Smith’s weekly podcast (and you should, go smodcast), then you’ve been treated to topics as varied as an in depth discussion of birthing practices in the The Matrix to casting on his new movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Not long ago Smith hinted that he was looking for a sexy, older actress to cast in his film in a role that sounds sort of like an elder statesman porn star. But he didn’t want a porn actress, rather someone that people his age might once have lusted over, haven’t seen in awhile, but might like to start lusting over her again now that she’s a Cougar.

Kevin Smith has found his Cougar.

HR say he’s hired 39-year-old former porn actress turned mainstream actress Traci Lords to join the cast. Lords had a solid stint on the Hollywood B-list back in the 90s, appearing in such high-profile films as Blade and Virtuosity, and scored memorable roles on television shows like Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Nash Bridges, and Highlander: The Series.

Lords isn’t the only new Zack and Miri addition. Also being added to the cast are Smith regular Jeff Anderson (Randal!), porn star Katie Morgan (Who seems surprisingly intelligent for a porn star… assuming you saw her HBO history special. I mean, she can actually read cue cards.), and actor Rick Mabe.
