Kick Off Your Sunday Shoes And Audition For Footloose![]()
Paramount's remake of Footloose has been through a lot of stops, starts and growing pains since it first started out as a Zac Efron vehicle with Hairspray's Adam Shankman directing. With a summer production scheduled they've got Hustle and Flow's Craig Brewer on board to direct, and now comes the challenges of bringing in enough hot young dancers to keep the target teen audience from even missing ol' Zac whats-his-name.
Think you've got the abs and gyrating hips to make it work? Paramount probably wants you. THR picked up on a casting notice released by the studio looking for men 18 and older to play high school seniors in the film. You "MUST HAVE NATURAL RHYTHM AND BE COMFORTABLE DANCING. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A TRAINED DANCER BUT A QUICK LEARNER." Go to FootlooseCasting.com for all the info you need, including instructions on taping an audition tape and the scene you need to read. The scene is pretty slim on the details-- a kid named Steve looks at a photo in his high school hallway, then bumps into a rednecky kid named Matt and cracks a few jokes. Obviously they're not looking for great untapped acting potential here, but a comfort on camera and, let's face it, the looks. At least they're being honest. |
