It hasn’t even been a week since the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory poster (on right) hit the net, but more posters have appeared from the factory (spotted at AICN). These posters fall into the single character profile poster, a trend which annoys me even more than the floating head poster.
I can handle floating heads, particularly when artistically done, but giving every single character their own poster is getting tiresome. While I was a big fan when the trend first happened, I think last summer’s Shrek 2 finally burned me out on the process. Now every time I go to the theater there’s a set of posters for some movie lining up the characters all in a row. I like the layout of these posters and the tagline that “the factory opens soon”, but lets try and stick with one poster from here on out, okay?
