Knights killing Muslims, now there’s a movie that ought to get protests. If “24” gets flack for having a few Arab bad guys, just imagine the throngs of complainers you’ll see lined up outside theaters showing Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven. By now we’ve all seen several trailers for the thing, but CB’s resident Orlando Bloom luster Irene sent me this interesting little link tonight:

Don't know if you've seen this yet, but they've released a 4:35 extended trailer for "Kingdom of Heaven" that they showed at Sho-West (or whatever it was). Thought you might like to see this. I'm getting more and more excited about this movie (and not just because of the Bloom factor... shaddup)

As an ex-SCA geek, I can testify to the authentic nature of the costumes, armor, weapons, and everything. As for the Bloom factor, I have but one word: Splurt. Read into that whatever you will.

Thanks Irene! This really does give a lot better idea of what Ridley’s going for. Unfortunately, it looks like pretty standard siege fare. Hopefully there’s more to it than simple, glorious battle. Actually, who am I kidding… I’m a sucker for swordplay. Battle is all I need.
