Brokeback Mountain fans have more to bitch about. Not only was the romance overlooked at the Oscars, but now Empire Magazine has awarded Peter Jackson’s King Kong remake their best picture award, as chosen by the magazine’s readers. Of course Brokeback’s loss shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise. The film wasn’t even a nominee in a category that included Sin City, Star Wars: Episode III, and War of the Worlds. That’s right Brokebackers – nutty Tom Cruise’s film was a nominee over the heartfelt tale of cowboys in love. Kind of makes that Crash sting pale in comparison, eh?

Jackson’s acceptance speech offered a humorous look behind the scenes of his remake, including just about every member of the cast dropping the f-bomb as well as millions of flubs by Jack Black. Add in some wild monkey dancing, courtesy of Andy Serkis, and you’ve got one of the best acceptance speeches in history.
