Last year the Oscar producers tried to get younger audiences to watch by having that Wolverine guy host and featuring Zac Efron in a dance number. Ratings spiked, everyone liked the ceremony, and now in typical Hollywood fashion, they're doing it again and twice as big. THR is reporting that, apparently because having the highest grossing movie of all time nominated for Best Picture won't grab enough eyeballs, they'll have Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner presenting an award during the March 7 broadcast.

Think of it: you're an animator or a documentarian or a sound editor who's worked your whole career towards getting an Oscar, and it's handed to you by some kid famous for his abs or a girl who can't muster up the energy to stop smirking through all her public appearances. Also showing up onstage will be Miley Cyrus and good old Efron again, though it's not clear if they'll be presenting awards, introducing some kind of clip montage, or just standing awkwardly to the side holding signs advertising their upcoming projects.

Honestly, it's not all that worth getting upset about the Academy Awards nakedly vying for attention-- they've been doing it for decades, and letting Miley Cyrus present an award isn't all that different from giving Shirley Temple a miniature statuette several decades ago. If Kristen Stewart manages not to flip her hair over the course of her time onstage, I'll consider that victory enough.
