The LEGO Movie Launches Awesome First TV Spot, Batman Gets His Own Character Poster

I'm pretty sure that I've discovered the key adjective that Warner Bros. wants me to be thinking about whenever I hear anything about Phil Lord and Chris Miller's The LEGO Movie. Watching the brand new TV spot above you will hear the word "awesome" nearly every second, and while it's mostly spoken by Chris Pratt - who voices the lead character Emmet - you can also hear it repeated constantly in the music and said once by an autotuned Elizabeth Banks (who plays Wildstyle). Honestly, though, I must admit that the marketing strategy does seem to work, as the film really does look pretty damn awesome.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who previously brought us the first Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street, The LEGO Movie centers on an ordinary minifig named Emmet who finds himself thrust into a dangerous situation when he encounters a group that believes he is the fabled Master Builder. Along with a small gang of companions he sets out on an adventure to stop the evil Lord Business (Will Ferrell) from committing a great crime: gluing the universe together.

When the clock hits midnight tonight we will be exactly one month away from The LEGO Movie hitting theaters, and as a result we can expect to see a lot more from the film in the coming weeks. In fact, we just saw a Superman character poster for the movie launch a few hours ago, and now we have a new one featuring Batman, thanks to the official Facebook page:

LEGO Movie Batman

Those won't be the only superheroes that show their faces in The LEGO Movie either. As we learned at San Diego Comic-Con this past summer, the film will also feature Jonah Hill as the voice of Green Lantern and Cobie Smulders and the voice of Wonder Woman. From what we've seen in the trailers it looks as though only Batman (voiced by Will Arnett) will actually be playing a big part in the story, but the cameos will hopefully be fun.

A cast including Pratt, Banks, Ferrell, Arnett, Hill and Smulders sounds attractive enough, but that's only the tip of the iceberg in this one. Also providing their voices in the movie will be Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, Morgan Freeman, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day, and Will Forte. Basically, it's a frontrunner for "Best Cast of 2014." Look for it in theaters on February 7th and enjoy the latest theatrical trailer:
