Don’t expect any holiday gifts from Frank Marshall. The producer tweeted that we’ll have to wait until February for the debut of The Last Airbender trailer.

The tweet reads, “Not enough ILM shots finished, so LAST AIRBENDER trailer will not debut until Feb...” ILM stands for Industrial Light & Magic, the film’s special effects company. So, clearly, they don’t have enough visual effects to put together the Christmas trailer promised.

I can’t help but to wonder if the delay has something to do with the December 18th release of Avatar. Perhaps, director M. Night Shyamalan and his crew are concerned James Cameron’s masterpiece will steal their thunder. Okay, that seems sensible, but the longer they wait, the further its’ separated from this summer’s teaser trailer. Will anyone except fans of the animated series even care by then? As long as the additional work time is reflected in the caliber of trailer, that’s enough for me.
