Leatherheads is George Clooney’s next movie, and it’s a movie I was only mildly interested in until right about two minutes ago, when I saw the film’s first poster.
Now it’s safe to say that I’m sold. I’m a sucker for a good one sheet that way. Yeah, it’s a football movie set in the early days of the game. Back before guys had all that padding, protection, and NFL health insurance. That’s a piece of the poster to your right there. I love how dirty and messed up everyone looks, and most of all I love whatever the hell that look is in Clooney’s eye. Maybe it’s just the black eye that speaks to me, but he looks like a cross between the A-Team’s Mad Dog Murdoch and deceased Support Your Local Sheriff! costar Jack Elam. It’s an insane kind of genius. If this is at all representative of the movie, I can’t wait to see it. Heck, I’d be happy with just a trailer this good.
