Legendary And WB Remain BFFs![]()
Two years ago, Legendary Pictures arrived on the Hollywood landscape with 500 million in pocket change, ready to strike a deal. They were quickly welcomed in by Warner Brothers, and the two signed a two year agreement to co-finance 7 or 8 pictures a year. It now appears Legendary CEO Thomas Tull is ready to double down.
According to Variety, Legendary Pictures has raised a billion dollars and re-upped through 2012 with bestie Warner Brothers. Thus far, the partnership has been one of staggering highs and lacksidasicle lows. 300 and Batman Begins both drew in cocaine sales-like money, while Lady In The Water and The Ant Bully frantically doggy-paddled for live (much like I did earlier today when the deep end of the swimming pool seemed like a good idea). The dynamic duo is currently in production on two films: Where The Wild Things Are and 10,000 B.C.. Anyone who had a productive childhood will probably end up giving Where The Wild a chance, soaring it to huge profits, but we’ll see about 10,000 B.C.. I love mammoth hunting just as much as the next guy, but that doesn’t mean I’ll shell out 8 bucks to watch it on screen. Who the hell am I kidding? I probably will. |
