Memo to Leonardo DiCaprio: the vintage look suits you. The actor has spent time with Martin Scorsese (in Gangs of New York, The Aviator and The Departed) and in the 1950s (in Revolutionary Road), but now he's bringing it all together in Shutter Island, a 1954-set thriller in which he and Mark Ruffalo play U.S. Marshals pursuing a woman escaped from an insane asylum.

And because they're been ruling hte roost in terms of photo exclusives lately, Empire Online has the first on-set image from the film, featuring Scorsese directing DiCaprio and Michelle Williams, who plays his wife in the film. There's also a pretty promising quote from Ruffalo: ""This could be one of [Scorsese's] great films. He gets to do everything he loves about film: noir, dream sequences, suspense, tough urban stuff. It's absolute madness, twist upon twist."
