I didn’t get on the Boyle bus early enough. Most movie lovers discovered director Danny Boyle in the mid-nineties, which his drug epic Trainspotting brought the world a brutally honest look at heroin addiction. Instead I discovered Boyle with his take on the zombie film, 28 Days Later…. I’ve been a fan ever since.

So obviously I’m looking forward to Boyle’s next venture, a trip into the science fiction genre (as a follow up to his family film – is this a well versed director or what?). The concept – 50 years from now the sun is going out, so scientists develop a method to revive it. The trip begins to take its toll on the astronauts carrying the payload though, leading to some suspense as their sanity becomes questionable.

The film, which includes former Boyle actor Cillian Murphy, hits theaters next year, so it’s a little early for a trailer. That hasn’t kept the crew from putting up some behind the scenes looks at the movie, including comments from Boyle himself about Sunshine.
