Another ensemble of miserable suburban families are about to grace the big screen.

New Line Cinema is releasing the movie Little Children based on Tom Perrotta's edgy novel. Kate Winslet is signed on to play the role of a bisexual feminist who is unhappily married to an internet porn addict. She is appalled to learn that he would rather fondle his keyboard than her. Jennifer Connelly is in talks to join the offbeat picture, most likely in the role of Mary Ann, an uptight supermom who likes to schedule sex in between her grocery runs. The male leads have yet to be cast. Todd is a stay-at-home dad still referenced as "Prom King" long after his glory days have subsided, and Ronnie is a pedaphile fresh out of the slammer.

Todd Field (In The Bedroom) is set to direct, and he is also cowriting the screenplay with author Perrotta. Ron Yerxa and Albert Berger are producing.

Sounds like a deranged party I'd be happy to crash.
