The Spider-Man movies have been hinting at the future appearance of Spidey arch-villain The Lizard since the start, but so far Doc Connors hasn’t made his scaly transformation. The Lizard won’t be showing his face in Spider-Man 3 either, but maybe we’ll see him in Spider-Man 4.

IGN recently spoke to actor Dylan Baker, who played Lizard’s alter-ego and Peter Parker’s teacher Doctor Curt Connors in Spider-Man 2. When asked about becoming Lizard Baker said that he is “hoping it's not too far down the line! I'll be trying to get on the Lizard costume when I'm 80. I just spent time with Alfred Molina [who played Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2], and we were both joking about that. But it's like these great characters, that are there in the comic books. And it's like, just open that door up… I'm ready to go!” He also confirms that he has talked about doing the character in future with Sam Raimi. Only problem is that as of right now Sam Raimi is not making Spider-Man 4. He isn’t signed up to do it, and from the way he’s been talking lately he’s not going to do it.

So where does that leave Lizard? Baker is willing to do it, and they’ve been going out of their way to set up the character. They do need a new villain for Spidey 4, with or without Raimi and they have been talking about Lizard. So why not use him? It kind of makes sense. It’s either him or Mysterio, and I’ll were-reptile over a guy with a fishbowl on his head any day.
