MOVIE NEWS
Lois Lane CastI like Kate well enough, though she’s done little to prove her mettle. Her best film thus far is probably Blue Crush, which probably sounds bad, but then I assume if you think that you’ve never seen it. Blue Crush is better than the name, trailers, posters, and subject matter would indicate. It’s a decent movie and Bosworth fills in her surfer girl role fairly well. Of course that hardly qualifies her to cover Lois Lane territory. She’s also been in really terrible movies like Beyond the Sea, and the infamous Rules of Attraction, and even a film with the guy who rumor once had cast as Jimmy Olsen, Topher Grace. Kate Bosworth is pretty, and at the very least solid as an actress, but to me she still seems horribly wrong for Lois Lane. She has a round, soft face. I can’t see her as a hard-edged reporter. She’s better as a doe-eyed Sandra Dee, or a soft, easily romanced surfer girl. Not plucky Miss Lane. At least she’ll look good in short business skirts. I think Singer is really going to regret the day he failed to work something out with Evangaline Lilly. We’ll see. |
