Look Behind The Scenes Of The Three Musketeers
If every generation has its own version of The Three Musketeers, as is suggested in the behind-the-scenes video for the latest adaptation of the classic tale, I guess mine is the one with Chris OíDonnell and Kiefer Sutherland. Judging by this video, the current generationís version will be bigger than the previous films, but will it be better?
What should viewers expect from the upcoming Three Musketeers? Based on this video, which features director Paul W.S. Anderson and the cast, swords, guns and frilly dresses. I suppose none of that really sets this new adaptation apart from the previously made films, however, as mentioned in the video, this will be the Three Musketeers that tells a 400-year-old story using 21st Century technology. Watch the video and judge for yourself as to whether or not thatís a good thing.
The film certainly looks like itís going to be visually appealing, especially in 3D. I think the most interesting things mentioned are the lack of stunt-doubles and claims of real swords and real sword fighting. Iím also very interested to see the mentioned female action sequence. With a story thatís full of male camaraderie, itís great to know the females will also playing their parts (aside from being the damsels in distress). Is it historically accurate? Probably not. But I think I saw a flying ship in that video, so I think theyíre sort of flexible in the accuracy arena.
The Three Musketeers will be released on October 21st. More on the film here.
