When comedians get together, no good can come of it. Gone are the days of the old Saturday Night Live crew getting together for Ghostbusters, The Blues Brothers or Animal House. Now, we have half-assed comics that are more abrasive and offensive instead of likable and relatable. The latest in team-up news is that Louis C.K., co-writer of the recent I Think I Love My Wife, has been paired with Martin Lawrence in The Better Man, reports Variety.

C.K. will be playing second fiddle as a producer to Lawrence’s successful talk show host character. Despite Malcolm Lee directing, the film is not a sequel to his The Best Man (1999). Instead, it’s a comedy about Lawrence who moves home to the South. Expect a “you can never go home again” moral as Lawrence’s character is humbled.
