Luc Besson’s not just a director and producer of mid-level action movies. He makes animated movies about troll dolls too.

His first animated troll doll movie is Arthur and the Minimoys, and some guy named Olivier is spamming the internet's most significant movie sites (and us too) with what he claims are the first pics of characters from the movie.

Unlike some entertainment writers I’m not going blather on and on acting excited to try and convince you that this looks good just because we’re talking about it. If these pics are real, then it in fact looks pretty damned lousy. I’m not sure what Besson is going for here, but I think I’d rather see a new installment of My Little Pony.

Arthur and the Minimoys is written and directed by Luc Besson and tells the story of a ten-year-old boy who goes looking for a fabled treasure in the land of the Minimoys… presumably the guys pictured below in the images we received. It will be in theaters here in America this December and the trailer should debut in French theaters and possibly online this month.
