Lucy Punch has the kind of name that a character in a schlocky action movie might have, or even a porn star. But the actress has her sights set on classier fare, and is taking a role alongside Steve Carell and Paul Rudd in Dinner for Schmucks, a remake of the French film Le diner de cons.
THR doesn't specify which role Punch will play, but I'm guessing she'll play the wife or girlfriend of the character who invites a new guest to his weekly dinner party, a guest who turns out to be, well, a schmuck. There's no confirmation of which actor will take which role, but I've still got my bets on Carell, with Rudd as the refined dinner party host. Punch, who is 31, would be a good match to Rudd, and is hopefully able to keep a straight face on camera. Making a movie with Carell and Rudd would probably test anyone's ability not to crack up.
