MTV Movie Awards

It may hurt to admit it, but every year MTV delivers the most consistently entertaining awards show out there. Probably because their awards themselves are utterly meaningless. They pick a group of nominees based on who they think will make them most popular with pre-programmed teens, then let "the people" vote on their favorites.

As a result, this year Pirates of the Carribean has the most nods, while Return of the King barely registers. MTV must think kids are tired of seeing Sean Astin.

No word yet on who will be hosting, but I hear that Tom Green isn't very busy. No doubt he'll stay that way and someone funny will end up hosting the show. Either way, it'll be a heavily star studded event where everyone will be waiting for Jim Carrey to do something mildly hilarious.
