MTV Movie Awards

Hollywood converged together for the “in” awards show that holds no merits what so ever. Hosted by Hollywood’s newest TI...er..I mean..IT girl Lindsay Lohan, the 2004 MTV Movie Awards went underway this weekend.

This year’s awards show held no surprises. Spoofs, presenters “dressing down” and of course a girl-girl kiss. This time it was Carmen Electra and Paris Hilton trying to shock people....on a taped show.

Unlike every other awards show, it appears as if there is no time limit for movies to apply. When nominations are given to movies that come out longer than a year from each other. Kind of defeats the purpose. Bringing Down the House got a nod for best fight and was released February 2003, yet 50 First Dates, Starsky and Hutch, and The Passion of the Christ are still eligible. Continuing with the trend they made 3 years ago, Lord of the Rings took home the top prize making it the only entire trilogy to do so. Sadly Scream 3 didn’t cut the mustard in 2001.

Solidifying the fact that these awards mean nothing, Look for the 2004 MTV Movie Awards to air on MTV this Thursday and subsequently all of next weekend on a 24 hour rotation.

And the “cool people” are....
