MTV's The Hills Turned Into A Movie?![]()
Apparently some of you are watching a television show called The Hills. I’ve never heard of it, but that doesn’t mean much since I’m over 30 and therefore no longer culturally relevant. Actually a lot of you must be watching it because one of the show’s stars Lauren Conrad recently told MTV that there’s talk of turning the series into a movie.
The show is a spin-off of the MTV series Laguna Beach, which I had heard of but avoided since everyone on it was so much prettier than me. Of course if I used that as a measuring stick to determine everything I watch, I’d be left with nothing to do in the evenings except sit through re-runs of Maude. The prettier than me rule only applies to shows on MTV, and that means I haven’t watched MTV since the last episode of Beavis and Butthead aired. Back to the point. The Hills is a soap opera about pretty young people who you’d like to be, but never will be because your parents aren’t rich enough to afford that kind of plastic surgery. As a crummy MTV soap opera, it’s hard to believe there’s much they could do to turn it into a movie, and Miss Conrad seems to agree on this point. She says, “I think if they were going to do a film of ‘The Hills’ they would basically film it like we do the show and they would just edit it into a movie. It would be like a really long episode.” Nice to know they’ll be putting a lot of effort into it. Watch MTV’s complete interview with Lauren Conrad in the embed below: |
