And for our final piece of news from Robert Rodriguez's chat with the public at SXSW, we've got a report about his plans to make Machete, a full-length version of the fake trailer that ran in front of Grindhouse in 2007. For a while it looked like the movie wouldn't happen, given Grindhouse's box office belly flop, but Rodriguez is confident the thing will happen after all." I’m not going to bullshit you guys. We are making Machete.” He added that the whole production is a lot further along than we think: "We’ve already got the script and we’re ready to go.” Will he be able to get financing for the movie? Will he have time to even make it? No idea. But at least he's going ahead with this one with his characteristic bravado-- and dammit, that might just be enough to get it made after all.
