If you aren't aware of actor Nicholas Hoult, it may be time to get acquainted. The twenty-year-old actor has already become a star in Britain, playing the character Tony Stonem in the first two series of the hit show Skins. He’s also recieved great praise for his role in A Single Man, which earned him a BAFTA nomination for The Orange Rising Star Award. Too busy to bother? Then just wait for the upcoming Mad Max movie and you should get the idea.

According to THR, Hoult has signed on to play a character named Nux in the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road, joining Charlize Theron and fellow British actor Tom Hardy. The report also says that Zoe Kravitz, Teresa Palmer and Adelaide Clemens are also close to signing on to the film, which will begin shooting this summer in Australia. The nature of Hoult's character is unknown, but it has been confirmed that the parts played by Kravitz, Palmer and Clemens will be with the good guys.

Having watched Hoult’s performances in the British teen drama, particularly his character arc in the second Skins series, I can confirm that he has great potential. If there’s any cause for concern, it’s that his character on television was a bit of a preppy snob, an attitude that probably won't translate well to an apocalyptic wasteland where you have to stare down guys like Lord Humungus. Let's hope he can display some range.
