The holiday season is nearly upon us, which means it's time for some enormous, CGI spectacle to bring in kids of all ages. And since there's no Harry Potter movie and The Day The Earth Stood Still doesn't look particularly family friendly, we've got Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa instead.
A longer theatrical trailer for the movie has emerged on YouTube-- posted in Russian, weirdly enough-- which shows more of the central foursome's adventures when they accidentally land in Africa on their way back to the Central Park Zoo. The tagline is "Surviving Africa, they'll have to get in touch with their wild side," and while I assume there's an actual plot, the trailer is mostly just a collection of funny scenes and brief glimpses of the popular characters from the first film. Not that there's anything wrong with that for a kid's movie, really. Madagascar 2 comes out November 7, on both regular screens and IMAX.
