After the monster success of his last movie, Madea’s Family Reunion, Lionsgate is determined to keep Tyler Perry on their payroll. This time though, they’ll let him out of his dress and into a pair of fatherly slacks.

Lionsgate has picked up Tyler Perry’s next movie, Daddy’s Little Girl. Perry is again writing and directing the thing, and presumably also starring in it. This is all part of Tyler’s continuing plan to conquer the world. In addition to continuing to crank out movies and stage plays, he’s launching lines of Mad Black Woman books and even about to dabble in television shows. Not since Doctor Phil has anyone achieved so much undeserved success.

Daddy’s Little Girl will allow him to step outside the world of Madea a little. He describes it as a flipped around knockoff of Cinderella, about a young, beautiful attorney who falls in love with a janitor and father of three working in her building. Because I guess lawyers are our modern equivalent of royalty. Boy, there’s a thought that sucks.
