Madonna Becomes A Director![]()
Her acting career never went anywhere, so now Madonna is horning in on her husband’s career and stepping behind the camera. She’s becoming a director and Hollywood.com says her first film will be Blade to the Heat.
The movie’s supposed to be a boxing story set in 1959. It’s based on a real life match between Emile Griffith and Benny 'Kid' Paret". One problem though, according to Wikipedia they fought in 1961. They fought three times. In the first match Griffith won in a thirteen round knockout. Their third Madison Garden match was the most notable. Before the match Paret taunted Griffith and called him a faggot. An angry Griffith won it in a barrage of punches and seriously injured Paret, leaving him in a coma which he died from ten days later. Since the bout was nationally televised, it was the first time real-life injuries which resulted in death were shown on television. How you turn that into a movie I don’t know. It’s been covered once before in a documentary called Ring of Fire. At least if she screws it up, Madonna has picked something nobody cares about to mess up. |
