Why do I hear the celebration music from the end of Return of the Jedi playing? Oh yeah... Empire reports that X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner isn’t sure it’s happening..

Says Donner, “David Goyer has written a brilliant script. It starts in the concentration camps and has Magneto coming out of there. But you know, I'm not sure that film is going to be made… The studio has a wealth of potential stories, and they have to stand back and decide which ones to make. And Magneto, I think, is at the back of the queue. Maybe it'll get made in five years - who knows?"

With those words, I guess we can toss another movie into purgatory. I was never fully sure where else they could have gone with that story anyway. But don't feel bad for her, she's got another shitty Wolverine and X-Men: First Class coming. Not to mention Deadpool. The future of non-Disney marvel films isn't looking so bright.
