Make Fun of Avatar, See If James Cameron Cares![]()
If you sift through enough Joan Rivers and Ryan Seacrest garbage on E! you occasionally can dig up a nugget of interesting information. Today, Christina Gibson over at the entertainment giant posted a few quips from the man everyone is dying to hear from, James Cameron.
Apparently at this weekend's Oscar ceremony, there was a planned skit involving Ben Stiller and Sacha Baron Cohen which would poke fun at Avatar. The skit was cut and when presented with that information, Cameron had this to say: “I don't know anything about that...I don't produce the Oscars. If they want to poke fun at Avatar Sunday, that's OK by me.” Of course he would be OK with it. Sticks and stones can't penetrate the $2.5 billion of padding around that man's sensibilities. However, I personally couldn't be happier that skit was done away with. Aside from the fact that I think those kinds of skits should be left to MTV, I generally just don't like Stiller or Baron Cohen. In the generally light-hearted spirit of the Oscars, it's safe to assume that there will be quite a lot of fun being poked at Avatar anyway, and with Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin hosting, the other films will probably get a generous ribbing as well. Check out the Oscars this Sunday at 7pm EST. |
