Since John Malkovich (Art School Confidential) and Jeremy Sisto (“Six Feet Under”) are two of the most interesting actors working today, it’s only natural that they should work together. Let’s face it: few people can play freaks better than they can. Thank goodness that nobody thinks to cast them as average, straight-laced, suburban Americans driving SUV’s. Yawn.
According to Production Weekly, the deranged duo will star in Gardens Of The Night for director Damian Harris (Mercy). The story is about an eight year old girl and boy who are taken from their homes and convinced that their families don’t want them anymore. After enduring nine years of terror, they are released, and don’t know what to do with themselves. At 16 years old with nobody to care for them, they hit the streets and try to survive.
The roles that Sisto and Malkovich will play have not been specified, but something tells me they won’t be playing the eight year old boy and girl. More likely, they will be the kidnappers, or some crazy homeless people they encounter on the streets.
Production is scheduled for August 14th in San Diego and Los Angeles.
