Mark Millar "Guarantees" A Kick-Ass Sequel![]()
Mark Millar is a guy who knows from unlikely sequels. The creator of Wanted is somehow going to see a sequel to the film version, even though a major character was quite deliberately killed off at the end of the first film. So after that, really, a sequel to the soon-to-be-released Kick-Ass is simple stuff.
Talking with characteristic bravado to MTV's Splash Page, Millar said he's got big plans for a sequel to Kick-Ass, the movie version of his graphic novel series that Matthew Vaughn directed and was recently picked up for distribution by Lionsgate. "The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too," Millar promised. "We don't want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good. It didn't cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one." Of course, there is no way to guarantee there will be another one-- a million things have to go right between now and April 13, when the film is released, to know that for sure. But Millar's confidence is definitely a good sign that the powers involved would be willing to make it happen. Now we just have to see the movie to find out if that would actually be a good thing. |
