Mark Wahlberg Developing A Movie With Justin Bieber
Mark Wahlberg is one of the few who, in recent times, successfully made the jump from recording artist to successful actor (say what you will, the guy has been nominated for an acting Oscar). Decades removed from singing about Good Vibrations and taking his shirt off in music videos, apparently he wants to pass the torch.
Vulture caught up with Wahlberg at the Time 100 Gala last night and received a strange bit of information: he's in the process of developing a drama with Justin Bieber. In development over at Paramount - the same studio that brought us Never Say Never - Wahlberg was reluctant to give too many details away about the project, but said that it will be about "a reluctant mentor in an inner-city environment." When asked if there would be any singing and/or dancing from either of them, Wahlberg said no, but quickly backtracked a bit, saying, "If I had to [I could], but Iíve, you know, thatís the last resort. Iíve worked really hard to get away from that whole thing, but you never know. I may just end up coming back full circle."
Mark Wahlberg is also on the record having called Justin Bieber "the white Tupac," so make of that what you will. Considering who Bieber is and the persona that he's created, I think it would be hilarious for him to try and portray someone living in the inner-city, but perhaps I'm alone in saying that.
