Marlon Wayans Makes Fun Of His G.I. Joe Co-Star![]()
Marlon Wayans had to fight his way through a loud cacophony of brothers, nephews and cousins during the Dance Flick press conference last week, but he managed to speak up, both about the new parody movie and his much-anticipated turn in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra later this summer. And it turns out, the two have another connection-- Dance Flick makes merciless fun of dance movies like Step Up, which starred fellow G.I. Joe star Channing Tatum.
And Wayans says Tatum was well aware of the mockery that was going on on the Dance Flick set. "At lunch, he would come in my trailer and watch the dailies [for Dance Flick] with me. He'd be like, 'Dude, that's so wrong! Are you making fun of me? That's hilarious!' But what a sport, man. It's a testament to the kind of kid he is." Wayans also talked a little about the hero he plays in G.I. Joe, Ripcord, who apparently gets in some romance along with the action. "Ripcord, he's a hero with humor. He gets the girl, he helps save hte day, and he don't die in the first five minutes." We'll have more tomorrow from the entire Dance Flick press conference; the movie goes out in wide release tomorrow. |
