With the three lead roles of Superman, Lex, and Lois penciled in, the rest of the cast for Bryan Singer’s Superman movie is filling out quickly. The Hollywood Reporter claims to have the inside track, and says Hugh Laurie (who is working with Singer on a horrible TV show) is negotiating to step in as the cranky newspaper editor, Perry White. You might be getting tired of seeing cranky newspaper editors in superhero movies, but in my experience that’s just how they all really are. You can’t change the truth.


In weirder casting news however, James Marsden (X-men) will also be joining the cast as Singer begins his long predicted pillaging of the X-men cast. Marsden will play Richard White, a guy described as Lois Lane’s love interest… and presumably also some relation to Perry. Hopefully, there won’t be some weird, awkward, Clark Kent/Richard White/Lois Lane love triangle. If we’re lucky, he’ll get killed early by some horrible supervillain, leaving plenty of room for good old Clark to make his move. You can do it!
