You'd think Michael Douglas couldn't do much better than being married to Catherine Zeta-Jones in real life, but now he's gone and one-upped himself by scoring Mary-Louise Parker as his onscreen girlfriend. The Broadway actress and Weeds star has joined the cast of Solitary, in which Douglas plays the former owner of an auto dealership who loses his job and marriage due to some questionable ethics.
Parker is joining a big and talented cast, which The Hollywood Reporter lists as including Susan Sarandon, Jenna Fischer and Danny Devito. It's unclear how the plot will proceed from Douglas' character's misdeeds, but with a girlfriend played by Mary-Louise Parker in the mix, you can only presume the trouble will continue from there. Solitary begins filming next month in New York, where Parker is already performing in the Ibsen classic Hedda Gabler.
