Matt Dillon Torments Old Dogs![]()
You might not be able to teach old dogs new tricks, but you don’t have to if you get the right old dogs. That seems to be the philosophy behind the next Robin Williams / John Travolta picture Old Dogs. The movie stars the two men as business partners who are forced to care for six-year-old twins for two weeks. Think Three Men and a Baby with one less man.
As part of the story, the duo take the twins to a summer camp where they meet Barry, an ultraconservative, overzealous leader who mistakes the two struggling father-figures for a homosexual couple. The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Matt Dillon, no stranger to the judgemental, egotistical villain role, is in final negotiations to play Barry. None of the casting so far is very surprising, leading to what sounds like a pretty predictable family-friendly picture, which goes back to what I was saying: if you get old dogs who are used to playing these kinds of roles, you don’t have to teach them new tricks. |
