McConaughey's Girlfriends Get Cast![]()
If you’re the kind of person who has been watching the Fool’s Gold trailers and thinking how great it is that Matthew McConaughey is in another movie, get excited. The full cast has been announced for his next project, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, which he plays a womanizer who is mysteriously visited by...well, you probably already know.
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Breckin Meyer has been cast as McConaughey’s younger brother, who is marrying a character played by Lacey Chabert. Jennifer Garner, who was already announced as part of the cast, plays the bride’s best friend and, of course, one of McConaughey’s old flames. Anne Archer will play the mother of a bride and a woman who naturally wants to get with McConaughey’s character, while Amanda Walsh will play the only bridesmaid he hasn’t been with. Man, this guy just sounds better and better. The most interesting casting is Emma Stone, best known as Jonah Hill’s love interest from Superbad, who will play the otherworldly guide through the parade of ex-girlfriends. Stone is nearly 20 years younger than McConaughey, so lets hope she doesn’t become another attempted conquest. As much as I love Jennifer Garner, this movie sounds revolting. I know there’s always room for one more romantic comedy, but does Matthew McConaughey always have to be part of it? Weren’t we supposed to have gotten sick of him back with EdTV? Until the open call for new romantic comedy stars works, I guess this is what we have to work with. |
