McMahon In Prisoner![]()
I stopped watching “Nip/Tuck” after they got away from sex parties and teenage threesomes and started focusing on coke addictions and cheating doctors. But I was there long enough to see something pretty great in the show’s Australian star Julian McMahon. Once rumored to be up for James Bond (and maybe he still is, who can tell what’s going on with that franchise anymore) and starring as Viktor Von Doom in this summer’s doomed superhero would-be blockbuster The Fantastic Four, McMahon is putting himself in chains.
According to Variety, Julian has signed up for Prisoner, an indie drama written and directed by David Alford and Robert L. Lynn. Not to be confused with “The Prisoner” in which a guy is chased by giant inflatable balls, Alford & Lynn’s movie is the story of a movie director scouting abandoned prison locations who actually ends up imprisoned. It’s almost ironic, but not quite. McMahon plays the lead in a cast rounded out by people you’ve never heard of. The film starts shooting in Nashville soon, presumably because McMahon is kidnapped by corncob pipe chewin rednecks. |
