Meet Indiana Jones Jr… Or Not![]()
Earlier this week Variety announced that the most popular member of Disney’s “Even Stevens,” Shia LaBeouf, was looking to add another franchise to his belt. So far the young actor has earned notice from supporting roles in Constantine and the upcoming Transformers. What could possibly top that? How about a whip and fedora for the youth?
Variety announced Thursday that LaBeouf was in negotiations to appear in the fourth Indiana Jones film, however the actor told Sci-Fi Wire that the news was nothing more than an internet rumor: “I can't keep a secret. If it were true, I'd talk about it. I'll tell everyone,” the actor stated. While LaBeouf would love a job on the upcoming sequel, he seems quick to denounce the idea that he’s involved. Is this a move to help contract negotiations, or an actor quickly admitting he’s not attached to something? It’s a question that can’t be answered now. However, I find it interesting that we have another case of one of Hollywood’s most respected sources of news borrowing its information from the internet again, and this time possibly getting caught with its proverbial pants down if the story isn’t reliable. If the news is false, it’s kind of a shame. I like LaBeouf’s style and wouldn’t mind seeing him in another successful franchise. Hell, with Ford getting up there in years and Lucas’s outlandish need for control, some fresh air like Shia might be what a sequel like this needs to succeed. |
