If you haven't been following the many activities and projects of Mel Gibson (and I do not blame you for this), let me get you up to speed. Right now he's in New York filming a movie called The Beaver, which has invited many hilarious puns on the Internet and has provided some uncomfortable set photos to boot. Just yesterday it was announced that Gibson and Leonardo DiCaprio would be suiting up in Viking helmets for some kind of period drama, but not so fast-- there may be a trip to Mexico in the cards first.

Production Weekly is reporting that Gibson will first be starring in How I Spent My Summer Vacation, which will start filming in March in Veracruz, Mexico. You may remember some news a while back about Gibson planning a movie shoot at a prison in Veracruz, and though at the time we seemed to assume that it would be another Gibson directing project, Adrian Grunberg is apparently in charge of this particular Summer Vacation.

What's the movie about, and how does the Viking movie fit in? Not a clue. But it is nice to see Gibson doing so much work right now-- so long as the beaver puppet stays put on that particular set.
