Men In Black Of The Conchords![]()
It's hard to not love the Men in Black franchise. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones made a great team of alien law enforcers and had a great time doing it, and that showed on film in a big way. The second in the series took more than $440 million, which usually means that yet another sequel is soon to follow. But not until now, eight years later, has Columbia finally gotten around to putting the feelers out for some new cast members.
Bloody Disgusting has the scoop that, aside from Josh Brolin who is all but confirmed, the production company is interested in Sacha Baron Cohen and Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement to play a brand new character named Yaz. Whether the two are in competition to play the character, or if both actors will be playing a two-headed creature has yet to be determined, but with Men in Black anything goes. The article fails to mention the series' two original stars, but Smith has been confirmed to be on board in the past. I can't imagine an MIB without the original J and K, but if that's what I have to accept, I'll take it. This is all strictly rumor for now until we get an official release from Columbia, but the gang at BD hasn't led us astray before, so expect at least one of the actors to get picked up. |
