Mencia Enters The Minds Of The Farrellys

By Josh Tyler: 2006-09-22 00:00:00
Mencia Enters The Minds Of The Farrellys The least funny guy on Comedy Central has just merged himself with the two of the least funny writers still working in Hollywood. At least the Farrelly brothers used to be funny, Carlos Mencia can't even claim that much.

Production Weekly is reporting that "Mind of Mencia" star Carlos Mencia has signed up for an untitled Farrelly brothers project about a guy with commitment issues. The movie already stars Farrelly favorite Ben Stiller, Michelle Monaghan, and Malin Akerman.

Stiller plays the commitment-phobic Eddie Cantrow, a guy who decides to get married in spite of his long-term relationship aversion. Unfortunately for Eddie, he meets his soulmate while on his honeymoon, and it's not his wife! It's Carlos Mencia! Ok, not really, though that might actually be funny. Instead Carlos plays a Mexican. The role should be a tremendous stretch for him. The Mexican he portrays is a sadistic hotel manager at the resort where Stiller's character is considering cheating.

The soon-to-be-titled film starts shooting next week.
