Because her name isn't "James Franco" and she doesn't have any plans to star in a superhero or Snow White movie, we sadly don't get too many opportunities to write about Meryl Streep. Today, however, we get a double dose. Just this morning the first picture of Streep in costume as Margaret Thatcher came online, and now she has landed a new gig.

Deadline reports that Streep has been cast in Great Hope Springs, which will reunite her with director David Frankel for the first time since The Devil Wears Prada. Streep has been circling the project for a while now, first rumored in June when Jeff Bridges was in talks to co-star. Since then Bridges dropped out and was replaced by James Gandolfini, but this new report says that there is no male lead currently cast. Based on a script by Vanessa Taylor, the film tells the story of a married couple who, recognizing the problems in their relationship, decide to attend an "intense counseling weekend."

Considering how long she was rumored for the part, the biggest surprise here is that it's taken this long for her to be officially signed on. But who should play her husband? While I loved the idea of the Streep-Bridges pairing, there are plenty of actors out there in the age range perfectly suited for the part. Who would you like to see co-star as Streep's husband?
