Meryl Streep Becomes Margaret Thatcher In The First Trailer For The Iron Lady
It seems like every year that Meryl Streep comes out with a movie she is destined for at least an Oscar nomination. One of the greatest actresses of all time, every project she touches is brought to a whole other level. Though she wasn't in a film in 2010, her nominations for Julie and Julia in 2009 and Doubt in 2008 set a pretty recognizable modern precedent. It seems that will continue this year with The Iron Lady.
The first trailer for the film has arrived online, and while you don't actually get to see the actress until the very end, it's immediately apparent that she has transformed herself again, this time into Margaret Thatcher, the first female Prime Minister in the UK. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the film is a biopic about Thatcher's time in power and the results of the moves she made, for better and for worse. Check out the trailer below. |
