Meryl Streep is constantly described as the best living actress, but really, doesn't she transcend gender? A group of Los Angeles actors think so, at least-- the all-guy group will be performing Streep Tease, a collection of Streep monologues from across her film career.

And don't think this is some kind of drag-show parody that criticizes Streep or her writers. The event's organizer and one of the actors Roy Cruz told Variety "We fell in love with Meryl not only because of her work but that of the directors and writers of her films."

The event goes up September 5 at L.A.'s bang.comedy theater, so if you're in the area, give it a look. It might not necessarily have the same Meryl magic, but it sounds like a fitting enough-- and weird enough-- tribute to the actress who's kept us all entertained for decades.
