New Metroid Game Trailer Reveals A Fantasy Samus Aran Movie

Movie adaptations of video games have developed a bad habit: sucking mightily. Be it because of bad filmmaking or the process of going from an active to a passive medium, none of the multitude of films based have gotten it completely right. It's upsetting for fans of both platforms, but made even worse games use promotion with effective and cool looking life action.

A commercial for Metroid: Other M has come online and I can guarantee that it is a million times better than any feature adaptation that may someday be made based on the long running Nintendo series. The effects are beautiful, the costumes are done right and the mash-up of both slow motion and normal speed is tops. It's a great looking commercial and also made me think of some perfect casting: January Jones for Samus Aran?

Check out the game trailer below and hope with me that they will someday get it right.
