Michael B. Jordan And Miles Teller To Reteam For A New Heist Comedy

It would seem that Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan really like working together. In addition to just starring together in the recently-released romantic comedy That Awkward Moment, the two young actors are reportedly frontrunners for lead roles in Josh Trank's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, and now they are ready to work with That Awkward Moment director Tom Gormican together on a new heist film being put together at Warner Bros.

The Wrap, which first reported the story, says that the plan is to make a movie "in the vein of fun capers like WB’s own Ocean’s 11, and adds that part of the plot will beset in Macau. Unfortunately, that's all the information the site seems to have about the project, as we don't even know who is writing the script. Brett Ratner and John Cheng of Rat Entertainment will serve as producers alongside Scott Aversano (who also worked on That Awkward Moment).

Apparently this film has been in the works for a few weeks, and it wasn't announced sooner out of respect for That Awkward Moment co-star Zac Efron, who will not be joining Teller and Jordan in the new project. The romantic comedy starred the three young actors as young men living in New York and dealing with different kinds of troubled relationships. You can watch the trailer below:

Despite its talented cast, That Awkward Moment wasn't exactly a big winner at the box office, opening at #3 at the box office and to date making only $22 million domestically. The good news for Focus Features, the studio behind the movie, is that it only cost $8 million to make, which is a figure that probably made Gormican, and Aversano very attractive to Warner Bros.

While there hasn't been any official word on casting from 20th Century Fox yet, Teller and Jordan are currently up for the parts of Mr. Fantastic and the Human Torch, respectively, in the aforementioned Fantastic Four movie, which is going to be going into production this summer in preparation for its June 19, 2015 release date. Should the actors get the parts it will likely tie up their schedules for a considerable amount of time, so it's hard to say when they might be working on Gormican's untitled heist movie.

Coming up, Teller will be reuniting with his Spectacular Now co-star Shaillene Woodley to co-star in the young adult novel adaptation Divergent, and he also has the Max Nichols-directed romantic comedy Two Night Stand. Jordan, who earned acclaim last year for his performance in the Sundance drama Fruitvale Station, will next be in Josh Boone's drama Pretenders with That Awkward Moment co-star Imogen Poots. It's not very hard to play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon with this group).
