With Taylor Lautner's star on the rise thanks to crowds of screaming teenage girls, every studio wants a piece of him. A report came out last month that Lautner was being courted for multiple projects by multiple producers and directors, including some guy named Michael Bay. Apparently the Transformers director and the Twilight star have found common ground, because now they've started working together.

Deadline is reporting that Bay and Lautner have begun auctioning off a script to studios that will go to the highest bidder. According to the story, the project's plot is being kept under wraps, but, as one would expect, it is an action movie that's being described as "Mr. & Mrs. Smith meets Wanted."

It should be noted that while the Twilight movies have proven themselves to be box office gold, Lautner has no solo projects on his record, though Abduction is scheduled to come out later this year. What really puzzles me, though, is that Bay largely appeals to the male demographic, who, to put it lightly, don't think too highly of Twilight. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out.
