Theres no script, Christopher Nolan doesnt even know if he wants to do it, but Batmans butler Michael Caine already knows who the new castmembers will be in the sequel to The Dark Knight.
Caine tells MTV that he asked a Warner Bros. executive, How the hell are we going to top Heath? He was told, Ill tell you how you top Heath Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.
I dont know if its possible to top Heath Ledger as Joker, but that combination certainly at least gives you a shot Except I dont really see this as any sort of casting confirmation. The unnamed WB exec never actually said they had them or were even pursuing them, it sounds more like he was simply spouting off about one of the potential ideas theyre bandying around. If WBs executives are smart though, theyll stop dreaming up casting combinations and sit on their hands until Nolan decides what he wants to do. Once Nolan decides he wants to do it, they should continue sitting on their hands and let him do whatever the hell he wants.
I really hope this doesnt mean the studio is going to pressure Nolan into using Joker or Penguin. Forcing a talented director to use villains he doesnt like hasnt worked out so well so far. Look at Spider-Man 3.

well, to start with, killer croc will not i repeat will not be in it. nolan is keeping it realistic. also, 2 face didnt necesarily die. and yes, look at spiderman 3. that movie was a pice of poo. and knowing nolan, the riddler will be completely psychotic
A little tired of seeing villians come and go so quickly in the superhero movies.2-face could have lived until the next movie. Also it seems the less villians the greater character developement can be achieved, example the joker.(Spiderman 3 is a prime example would have been better with more venom, only venom). So back to batman how about going with someone we have yet to see in any movie-clayface or killercroc.Just my thoughts.
if johnny depp used michael caine as his mentor(like did with keith richards). 4 the prt of the riddler i think he could pull it off. Sophisticated and creepy/scarry as long as its not as gay as jim carrey in that movie ifeel bad 4 him and tommy.but the new movies are more serious than a joke. ALL ANY ACTOR HAS 2 DO IS BE INSANE and theyll get the part more insane the better . Heath proved that"
RIP
I dont think they are inspired choices at all, I personally think theyre the obvious ones and that Nolan (who will direct it regardless of all the will he wont he hype) probably wont use them.
His choice for the Joker was not an obvious one and yet worked beautifully. I used to think Heath Ledger sucked as an actor having seen Brothers Grimm and what was it called? first knight or something? whatever, it was a rubbish film, but his take on the Joker certainly was inspired so hopefully Nolan will look further afield than what Id call the boring and obvious choices.
I think either Depp as Riddler or Hoffman as Penguin are inspired casting choices (though Hoffmans name as Penguin was cast into the ring by fans a long time ago).
However, Id like to Tiny Lister come back as Killer Croc.
