Michael Caine Reveals Whether The Top Keeps Spinning After Inception's Ending
Ever since Inceptionís debut months ago, people have debated the movieís ending endlessly. The big question on everyoneís mind is, of course, does the top keeps spinning after the credits roll? If the top keeps spinning then Cobb is still trapped in the dream. If it doesnít, then heís finally out. Inception doesnít offer any definitive clues though thereís no shortage of theories. But you have to think that director Christopher Nolan knows the answer and, maybe, so does star Michael Caine.
At least he seems to think he knows. Talking to BBC Radio Caine says he knows whatís really going on and explains it this way:
The spinning top drops at the end, that's when I come back on. If I'm there it's real, because I'm never in the dream. I'm the guy who invented the dream
Itís unclear whether this is something Nolan told him, or whether this is something they shot and didnít use, or if Caine is simply throwing out his own theories. If true though, itís a pretty definitive answer to the question of whether the top keeps spinning and really, thatís the scenario that made the most sense all along anyway. What do you think?
